Men Still Rare in Online Fashion Shopping Sites

While it has always been a measurable truth that females do the vast bulk of shopping in general, but especially when it comes to fashion – even men’s clothing – things were hopefully going to be better for online retailers who would attempt to lure in men looking for clothes. As it turns out, much of the hold up for men in shopping for clothes is that they did not want to be seen doing fashion shopping and would therefore avoid any and all attempts to get them into stores that focused on clothing lines. Still, big retailers have been trying to bring men in and get them to look at more clothing choices from the privacy of their own homes or wherever they might like to be thanks to the mobile web browsing advances available today. Male shoppers are notorious for dodging all kinds of marketing so retailers online have been trying everything from throwing in gadgets like an ax or other weaponry to sporting goods that might appeal to the masculine mind set.

As it turns out, men are not even going after sites that are designed to appeal only to men with no wading through the women’s wear in the process. There are a few shops which have managed to entice a few male shoppers by going after brands men tend to like, but these are few and far between. Web experts say it may be a while before male shoppers can be lured away from online games and other sites online into clothing shops, but eventually if the marketing mix gets developed well enough certain stores may be able to get that coveted male shopper.
