Disney and Target Join Forces to Release New Tween Fashion Line

It has long been a force in the tween market, the legegendary Disny Consumer Products division of the Walt Disney Company. Now that tweens have become a bigger and even more important part of the fashion market, dedicating themselves quite seriously to shopping for clothing, it has become important for retailers such as Target to find a way to entice them into the stores to buy. Back to school is definitely one of the biggest seasons of the year for the tween market, many of whom are dead set on impressing friends once classes begin again for another year. Designs that are inspired from a range of Disney licensed characters are this year not the cartoon characters that those from an earlier generation might expect. Instead, in 2010, Disney is bringing form some real tween heros from the Disney Channel such as Sonny Munroe from Sonny With a Chance, a TV character that is played by real life actress Demi Lovato. The new line of fashion products aimed at the tween market will be called D Signed and will only be offered at Target’s nation wide chain of retail stores.

Most of the unique articles of fashion that are offered will be designed to be mixed and match for the female tween market in sizes ranging from 4 to 16. These clothes are not designed to feature the images of the characters, but rather will be showcasing the styles that those characters are known for wearing in their TV and film roles. This is a big change for Disney and fashion in general.
